Ryan Norwood, CFA

Ryan Norwood, CFA, serves as a Managing Director at Ethos Commercial Advisors, where he specializes in the strategic structuring and placement of debt and equity for commercial real estate investors and developers. With more than 18 years of institutional investment and capital markets experience, Ryan brings a principal’s perspective to every assignment. He advises clients across the entire capital stack, with particular expertise in originating and structuring construction and permanent first mortgages, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and joint-venture equity.

Before joining Ethos Commercial Advisors, Ryan spent more than a decade at Northmarq Fund Management (formerly Morrison Street Capital), where he served as a senior member of the investment team and led the firm’s capital raising initiatives. He previously led Lument’s debt capital markets platform and efforts to deploy structured equity investments. Ryan has extensive experience with agency lending and underwriting programs, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD. He also worked extensively with bridge lenders, debt funds, life insurance companies, and money center and regional banks.

Prior to his career in finance, Ryan served as an officer in the U.S. Army. During Operation Iraqi Freedom II, he led a Scout Platoon on more than 300 combat missions and was honorably discharged as a Ranger-qualified Captain.

Based in Bend, Oregon, Ryan sources debt and equity capital for owners and developers across the county with a particular focus in the Pacific and Mountain West regions. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Providence Portland Medical Foundation and actively supports veteran-focused nonprofit organizations.

Ryan earned a Batchelor of Science in Finance from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, the premier global credential for investment professionals and previously held Series 7 and 63 licenses (inactive). Ryan lives in Bend with his wife and three children.
